A copy of the Economic Survey reads that these SDGCCs play a key role in aligning local policies with global sustainability targets. “These centres are instrumental in driving SDG localisation efforts through integrated policymaking and fostering inter-linkages across government departments,” the survey reveals.
“JK’s SDGCCs, along with implementing agencies, are actively working to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and promote a convergence-based approach. The government is focusing on engaging multiple stakeholders, including local governance bodies, civil society organisations, and private sector partners, to ensure comprehensive development strategies,” it states.

With the transition to SDG Coordination and Acceleration Centres (SDGCACs), NITI Aayog aims to enhance JK’s efforts by fostering innovative solutions and expanding engagement beyond government departments, according to the survey report.
JK’s inclusion in the SDGCC initiative is expected to accelerate progress in areas such as poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, and rural development
