Agriculture Sector of India continues to show good and resilient growth, because of dedicated policy and technology-driven agricultural reforms by the Indian Government. In 2024-25, agricultural GVA (Gross Value Added) is foreseen at 24.76 lakh crores at a healthy growth rate of 4.6%, and the foodgrain production reached the record of 3577.32 LMT, which showcase the enhanced productivity within the sector. However, for meeting the input cost and market requirements, the government is ensuring the execution of multiple initiatives such as PM-KISAN for providing direct financial assistance to farmers, e-NAM for transparent digital market access, and National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture for boosting the sector’s climatic resilience. Schemes like Per Drop More Crop and M-CADWM are therefore improving water use efficiency through micro-irrigation. Additionally, the establishment of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) is also ensuring Collective Bargaining and Financial Inclusion for Farmers. All these initiatives align agricultural growth with sustainability and farmer empowerment directly supporting SDG 2030 goals. In essence, India’s agriculture push blends growth and sustainability by feeding the nation today while securing the SDG 2030 goals for tomorrow.
