According to world bank 78% of poor people live in rural areas. And India’s farming sector faces many challenges, including small and fragmented landholdings, lack of modern farming knowledge, and inadequate investment. Farmers often use outdated methods, leading to low crop productivity. Post-harvest losses are also high, and underemployment is widespread. These factors directly reduce agricultural output and incomes, making it hard for farmers to improve their standard of living and contributing significantly to poverty in India.
